It's Fall

I wonder if this is what Haddy means by Jabin "murdering her.".....now to explain. Early this week I guess Jabin and Hadden had a little argument that soon involved a cop at the door and a 911 dispatcher on the phone. I guess Hadden decided to put some pennies in Jabin's new bank and Jabin thought she was getting into his money. Jabin swears he didn't touch her and Haddy explains that he poked her with his toy gun and pulled her hair (through sobbing) and that he was "murdering her!!) So she called 911 and then I guess hung up, luckily not mentioning that she was being murdered. So the kids ran to the back room and didn't answer when the police showed up so the dispatcher called back and Dallas explained that it was just an accident and asked, "Are we in any kind of trouble?" After many lectures on the emergency system and the fact that the kids will probably need a babysitter until they are 16 years old, we let it go and had a very enjoyable weekend.
The kids love getting wood and what a beautiful day to go up on the mountain. We went with Kevin Burgess and his family and got about 4 truck loads of wood. It was on his private property and we got to the gate before Kevin so I had the kids go out in this field and take some pictures. The mountain was so beautiful with all of the colored leaves.

I don't know what happened by Dallas' picture was erased, I will have to put it back later.

TIMBER! Matt getting out of the way as the tree was falling.

Taking a break before loading the last truck.

The trees didn't always land where we wanted so it required a little more work climbing uphill to get the wood, or on this side of the road, playing jump the wood as it was rolled off the hillside. This was a little dangerous but the kids had a great time. We always have a good time piling in the Old Red Chevy and getting wood. We missed our music this time though since the stereo was stolen out. It was a beautiful autumn day and maybe one of the last since snow may be coming next week. We ended the day by going for Pizza at Cavalier with a salad bar Matt and I were very impressed with.

Jabin's Baptism October 9th, 2010

Dinner before heading to the church. Our good friend Jason came over and cooked up the famous Sanpete BBQ Turkey, Grandma Marianne made Jabin's favorite, cheesy potatoes, and Grandma Bonnie made her good rolls. I made a big salad and the Pizzelle's again. We were so happy that our family was able to come and share Jabin's special day. The primary gave Jabin a very cute horse blanket to remind him of the "comforter" or Holy Ghost.

We missed Uncle Judd and Wendy. The round up started on this day and they couldn't make it. We also missed Uncle Jesse and his family. They were really sorry to miss and had a family trip planned earlier in Colorado. The stake asked if he had a musical number we could do and I said we would do it. Dallas was at piano and mentioned it to her teacher so the teacher called me and said that Dallas has a song they would do for a duet. I thought it would be perfect but I knew Haddy would be dissapointed because she wanted to sing I am a Child of God. We comprimised and decided Dallas and her teacher would play, I Feel My Savior's Love, and Haddy would sing it. We really practised and I got nervous as we got nearer to Sat. and Haddy was still not remembering the song. Well, it was time for Jabin and Matt to go over to the church early and I sen the girls to meet their teacher and practise. I didn't go over until it was time to start. When I got there I found out the piano teacher didn't come early. I was in a panic and so was Dallas. I told her she would just have to play it alone and she said it would sound awful. So...on the way up to perform I grabbed a lady from the ward out of the audience to play with her. Oh my! The lady didn't realize it was a duet and Haddy sang way slower then the music and the very last verse....the love he freely gives me....she started to sing I Am a Child of God!! It was a flop. I felt so awful. It would have been better just to have Dallas play or have my mom play with her and I could have explained it was a duet. Oh well!!! The piano teacher called Sunday morning to apologize and say she just forgot......

Jabin's Grandpas who were the witnesses at his baptism. Jabin was baptized and confirmed by his dad.

The Chute Ride Oct. 1st-3rd

We headed down on the San Rafael after work so we could ride the Chute in the morning. The Chute is where the Muddy River cuts through the San Rafael Reef. Jolene came along and it ended up just being Matt, his dad, Jolene and I. After leaving after work and taking care of the kids and getting the horses, by the time we got there it was really late. The floods over the last four years had really changed all of the roads and we ended up being lost in the dark. We decided to quit driving around in circles and camp for the night. We put our bed rolls out on the ground and I had a hard time going to sleep because it was so beautiful. The desert is soooo peaceful and
Factory Butte
beautiful. There were so many stars I couldn't even find the Big Dipper. I saw five shooting stars!

We loaded up in the morning after we oriented ourselves and could see Factory Butte and headed further up the road to the Muddy. These strange posts were right where we slept. Marcus joked about them being Indian artifacts and I thought they looked like devil worshiper's things. Who knows but it was weird.

This turned into quite the adventure because every time we crossed the Muddy we didn't know if we would sink or not. At one point Marcus was in front of me and the whole ground that he was on started to roll like jelly. He jumped up the bank and we all headed back. We got this far on the trail and we couldn't get any further on the horses because there was too much water. It had been a long time since Marcus had been through. We hope to be able to stay over next time and hike up through the rest of the way.

Lunch under a huge shade tree. It was so hot!

These are some cabins left from the Uranium minors. I thought the wood was really pretty in the setting sunlight.

This trip was Matt and I's 11th anniversary celebration. We both decided that a desert horse ride would always be marriage counseling for us. It just really brings us closer together because everything seems so petty when we are happy and doing something we both really love together. Happy Anniversary Honey!!

Jolene and Ruby Tuesday

These black face rock walls were so amazing...perfectly straight and smooth.

The old ranch house. We were so amazed that this was still standing. Marcus said it looked the very same when he was younger. That chimney was solid.

The tumbleweeds were even in bloom. They had beautiful little flowers on them. The grass blades were probably 6 to 7 feet tall.

We liked these boulders and decided to get a group picture at the end of our weekend adventure. What a great time. Thanks to Grandma Marianne for watching the kids! We even caught the last four talks of conference on the drive home, the rest I will have to read in the Ensign.

Weekend in Tabiona

I got to help my mom with a bridal shower for Wendy so we headed "home" for the weekend. Tabby will always be home to me. I made cream cheese filled Prizzelle's which were fun to make but just a little stressful when the batter turned out different every time. They were good though. Wendy got a lot of cute and useful things, it made me want to have a "shower" for my Christmas this year with the economy being like it is this is like hitting the jackpot!

The weather was just beautiful the whole weekend. Everyone went down to Judd and Wendy's and sighted in their guns for the upcoming hunts. I even got the balloon!

Kristina, Joni and Maile
After playing on the swing set we had to go down and play by the river. It is soooo beautiful in these river bottoms. The river was a little cold, as Haddy found out when she fell in, and it didn't stop Dallas from getting in and going for a little swim either.
