The Wonder Woman, 100 miles....
I had done the Goldilocks Century early May and had so much fun, deciding that these rides were the only way to go because they just spoil you at the rest stops and you get fun jewelery and cute shirts and goodies. So me and my friends were excited to do another all women's event again.

The night before the ride they had a mother daughter bike ride. It had been a really rainy day so i stopped by to get my packet and they were doing the ride rain or shine. Melanie was kind enough to let
Haddy and I jump on their bikes and
Haddy had so much fun. It was great to hear the inspirational stories of the women that were nominated for this years Wonder Woman award.

Melanie and her daughter, Jessica. Jessica and
Haddy are such cute little friends.
Lindsy teaches spin and we have a great group of friends that love to ride. This was so fun to do together.

This was our whole group. We were taking our time for some reason and missed the start of the race but usually this is not a problem because you just catch up...Well that was our first mistake.

This is us after we rode about 15 miles and decided we were riding the course backwards and turned around..We were pointed in the direction to go by some volunteers, who we later found out didn't know where to go either...

After riding 30 miles we were at the supposed to be first rest stop. Not a sole in sight. Luckily the drinking fountain worked at the rest stop. We started calling the support number on the back of our numbers and we were each getting random guys answering saying they had no idea what the Wonder Woman was and probably
thought we were
pranking them. After a lot of laughs and frustration some of us kept going thinking they would eventually get to the destination for lunch, and the rest of us headed back the way we came trying to get on the right path.

Kristi Bishop and me

A volunteer finally came for us at "worm road" that we named because of all the worms out after the rain, and we named it because we rode past it about four times.

This is another point that we found out later was a mistake. The volunteer that didn't know anymore then we did gave us a ride to here and we thought we were very close to lunch...For some reason he had us sign our name and put our racing numbers down...Well, after riding another 20 miles we knew lunch was a long ways away. He gave us a ride to the start! We were starting to wonder if we were just being scammed with this whole ride, wrong numbers on our jerseys, no other riders in sight, no rest stops, and now no lunch...

We were actually on four wheels more then two, unfortunately. Luckily the guy picking up the cones at the tail end of the race found us and told us we were a long ways from lunch and gave us another ride.

All smiles after venting to this poor volunteer

There is a Wonder Woman after all. This is lunch.

Just when we thought things couldn't get worse it started to lightly snow, then hail, and then down poor! This is a picture of me and Amy, who I had been taking spin with for over a year. We had went on a few rides together and I put two and two together and realized she was my cousin! It was fun to find out because neither one of us has family in the area. Her dad is Kent Roberts, who passed away very unexpectedly last year. I have heard stories all groing up of dad's cousins, Kent and his brother, Bliss.

I was really bummed not to get 100 miles in, I think we probably rode about 65 or so but after the
pouring rain and all the mix ups all day, we had all had enough.

Okay, this doesn't have anything to do with running or biking but I needed to fit this post in. Me and some girls from work went to see the Nashville Tribute Band. They were
soooo good. Tim Gaits is from
Richfield. His band is Due West but they also play with the Nashville Tribute, so it was fun to see someone famous from close to home.

Katherine Nelson has the most beautiful voice, and she is beautiful! I also loved her boots that I got a close up of.

Logan to Jackson Hole Epic Relay

My first time in Jackson Hole. These relays are always a lot of fun. I actually found this relay and thought it would be a fun one to do. Luckily Angela took charge and really did all the planning and organizing, but Julia and I offered to help. I wish I could have met up with my friend, Rachel, from Vegas, who was here on vacation, but it just didn't work out. I had the most amazing run ever in the middle of the night, somewhere close to Jackson Hole. I was afraid it was going to be cold and Dave had the first leg in the night after the exchange. It was really in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road. When we checked on him he said how great it was.Well, it was my turn and it seriously was just amazing. The weather was perfect. I was pretty much by myself with my headlight, and I have never felt better running. I saw a red blinking light on what looked like the top of a mountain and realized I had to run up that. It was not even a problem. I ran about 9 miles I think on that leg. It was a great experience. My favorite leg of a relay. All my legs combined I was probably close to 22 miles.

Okay, this is in rewind...Morning we left Jackson Hole. I had to take a picture of this sign, just in case I ever thought this part of Wyoming might be a fun place to live..better save my pennies.

Me and my sis, Julia

with Angela and Julia getting some famous granola.

A very nice bike. The guy who owned it wanted me to take a picture on it after he saw me admiring it, but then he was very particular about what part of it I touched. I could tell it was very important to him and delicate, and I am sure, pricey. I got to go country dancing at the famous Cowboy Bar,which was a complete bonus to my running adventure. I had such a good time and realized I might be rusty, but I can still shake a leg. I even danced with a 92 year old man from Grace, Idaho. It was so much fun and the live band was incredible.

Out and about in Jackson Hole, dining, looking for
souvenirs, and dancing the night away. Hey, after running 209 miles we've earned it.

Our lodgings

We did it again Taylor cousins, and friends.

Van 1 always has the advantage of getting done early and being able to freshen up. I seem to always bee in Van 2. That is why some of us look like we have been running because, literally, we just ran in after our 24 hour adventure.
Taylors...Welcoming Colin into the
fam, Ann's new fiance.

Matt, Me, and Angela

It's tradition for the whole team to run to the finish line together. I love Angela in her horns.

Dave and I sneaking down to soak our calves in the cold water

Ann, Barb, Me, and Melissa just after the van exchange. Dave had quite the hill to climb

We spent the night in this spot and we anxiously waited for what seemed like forever for our van for the exchange

Maybe somewhere in Grace, Idaho. What a cute couple!

It is so great to see this sign!!

Barb's turn to cool off.

Can you believe Iron Man, Dave's calves???!!!

Ann Taylor

This was my first run. It was a gradual hill and I, in relay lingo, "killed" a couple of guys, or as they say in relay lingo, they were "chicked."

Barb trying to cool off Dave

The first van exchange. Van 1 started in Logan early in the morning.

This was a smaller relaly compared to the other relays I have done but there was a small glimpse of some costumes here. There weren't as many people in this one.

VAN 1 Melissa, Collin, Ann, Barb, Dave, and Me

I love these two! Barb and Dave are so much fun and so easy going. They are so active and just great to hang out with. They live in Oregon and we hope to do some more biking and even another run in Bend, where they live. I am dying to go back to the Coast, so hopefully soon.

We all met for dinner in SLC. I drove one of our vans up from Sanpete, thanks to Cindy's trusty Garmin I made it okay, but was happy to turn the wheel over once everyone was there. It was good to see everyone again, since we hadn't been together since Hood to Coast last year, and meet our new friends willing to run with us. Angela surprised us all at dinner with our team shirt she had made up, "Saints and Sinners". Julia flew in early and was already at Grandma and Grandpa Greaves' house, where we were staying. It was so fun to visit with grandma and grandpa. I had some extra time in the morning too because I was in van 2.
